SUMMARY:

The Associate Director, Market Access Intelligence sits at the center of BMS’s intelligence work on Most Favored Nation (MFN) pricing, one of the highest-uncertainty pricing issues facing the industry. You’ll interpret what companies are doing and how governments and payers respond, keep the evidence behind the team’s scenario work current, and write the publications that reach more than 100 market access, policy and commercial leaders across BMS.

You’ll join a small, newly built team within Global Pricing & Health Systems Analytics, work directly with the Executive Director, Market Access Intelligence & Innovation, and see your analysis in form leadership discussions.

The team’s AI-powered intelligence platform is expanding across Market Access. You'll be the expert check on what it produces, and help colleagues make it part of how they work.

This role fits someone who wants deep expertise in international pricing and MFN, hands-on experience with an AI-enabled intelligence product, and regular exposure to senior decision-makers at this stage of their career.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

MFN and international pricing intelligence:

  • Follow MFN and international pricing developments across priority markets, interpreting the strategies behind company actions and how governments and payers respond.
  • Run signal intake: assess new developments for relevance and potential impact on BMS, and record them in the team’s knowledge base.
  • Keep the team’s early-warning narratives current, weighing the evidence for and against each one as events unfold.
  • Maintain the evidence and narrative base behind the team’s MFN scenario assessments, and prepare analysis for scenario reviews and leadership forums.
  • Own production of the team’s MFN publications, including the executive newsletter, alerts, and periodic summaries, from source review through final edition.
  • Draft fast, well-sourced answers to senior leadership questions on MFN and international pricing.

Intelligence platform content and self-serve enablement:

  • Own content quality on the platform: review outputs for accuracy, sourcing, and relevance, and correct or escalate issues.
  • Bring new content and licensed sources onto the platform to agreed standards, including access setup and usage tracking.
  • Turn what you see in content review into concrete recommendations for the platform roadmap: recurring errors, coverage gaps, and unmet user needs.
  • Lead self-serve enablement across Market Access: build training and user guides, run office hours, and use usage data to show where the platform is landing and where it isn’t.

Priority intelligence assignments:

  • Take on priority intelligence assignments beyond MFN, including US market access topics, building a view across both US and international markets.
  • Document sources, methods, and production workflows so the team’s intelligence output stays consistent and repeatable.
  • You will work closely with International Market Access, Global and US Pricing, Global Policy and Government Affairs (who own policy monitoring), and Digital and BI&T partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5–7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, or in consulting serving it, with experience in market access, pricing, competitive intelligence, or a related area.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leaders.
  • Track record of turning large volumes of information into accurate, concise writing for senior audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to form a clear point of view from incomplete or conflicting information.
  • Proven ability to set your own priorities and deliver high-quality work independently in a fast-moving environment.
  • Comfort using AI tools in your work, or a strong interest in learning.

Preferred:

  • Experience with international market access or pricing environments (for example, reference pricing, HTA, or global pricing). Strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting adoption of new tools or processes, including training or user documentation.
  • Background in competitive intelligence, equity research, policy analysis, or management consulting.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, health economics, public policy, or scientific degree).
