Why AstraZeneca:

AstraZeneca is a global, science-led, patient-focused biopharmaceutical company with a bold ambition: to eliminate cancer as a cause of death. Lung cancer sits at the center of that ambition, and our Immuno-Oncology portfolio is changing what patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) can expect across stages of disease.

This is an opportunity to join a team that puts patients first, follows the science, and turns practice-changing data into real-world impact for people living with resectable, unresectable, and metastatic NSCLC.

What You’ll Do:

As Senior Associate Director, US Immuno-Oncology Marketing, NSCLC, this role will serve as the execution lead for our IO portfolio in lung cancer. This role will lead the end-to-end marketing execution across NSCLC indications, helping translate brand strategy into high-impact HCP programs that grow adoption, strengthen our competitive position, and help more patients benefit from IO. This role will be responsible for leading the cross-functional team, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and delivering measurable results in one of oncology's most dynamic and competitive markets.

This role reports to the Head of Marketing, Lung, and is based at our Gaithersburg, MD campus, headquarters of the Oncology Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead NSCLC execution: Own the HCP marketing plan across NSCLC, turning brand strategy into integrated tactics that accelerate appropriate adoption across the lung cancer treatment continuum.
  • Build data-driven campaigns: Develop and manage HCP campaigns grounded in customer insights, market dynamics, and performance analytics, while optimizing in-market activities based on results.
  • Sharpen competitive positioning: Track the rapidly evolving NSCLC landscape, including new data, approvals, and competitor activity, and keep messaging and tactics differentiated.
  • Engage the multidisciplinary care team: Create programs that reach medical oncologists, thoracic surgeons, radiation oncologists, and pulmonologists to support timely, coordinated treatment decisions.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment: Partner with Medical Affairs, Sales, Insights & Analytics, Market Access, and Training to ensure marketing strategies are aligned, coordinated, and effective.
  • Bring in innovation: Identify, evaluate, and adopt new partnerships, technologies, and omnichannel approaches that improve customer engagement while identifying synergies across NSCLC indications and the broader IO portfolio to maximize impact and resource efficiency.
  • Lead with integrity: Ensure all marketing practices meet AstraZeneca’s standards and industry regulations while pushing for innovative, high-impact approaches.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required. Advanced degree (MBA or higher) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry with a focus on oncology; lung cancer and/or immuno-oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and cross-functional teams, with strong analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Track record of leading without authority, thinking strategically, and adaptig quickly in a dynamic, competitive environment.
  • Experience with digital marketing and omnichannel strategies preferred.
  • Launch or multi-indication brand experience is a plus.
  • High emotional intelligence and a collaborative, inclusive leadership style that drives team success.
