At DePuy Synthes, we see the person beyond the procedure. Our broad orthopaedics portfolio spans joint reconstruction, trauma, extremities, spine, sports medicine, craniomaxillofacial, enabling technologies, power tools, and biomaterials. Building on a legacy of innovation, we partner across functions and with healthcare professionals to translate customer insights into differentiated solutions and disciplined commercial execution.

The Surgical Innovation Manager is a commercial leadership role accountable for owning the strategy, planning, coordination, and execution of priority Sports Surgical innovation initiatives across an assigned geography. This leader will set direction, establish clear priorities, and mobilize Sales, Marketing, Commercial Education, Professional Education, Strategic Accounts, and enabling functions to deliver compliant growth, competitive conversions, successful product launches, and sustained portfolio adoption.

Serving as the primary commercial owner for new product introductions and strategic innovation programs, the Manager will define execution plans, clarify decision rights and stakeholder accountabilities, track performance against measurable objectives, identify and resolve barriers, and provide leadership with timely recommendations. The role influences through the organization, leads complex cross-functional work without direct authority, and partners closely with Area Vice Presidents, Regional Managers, distributors, key customers, and internal business leaders to ensure consistent, high-quality execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and own the regional commercial strategy and operating plan for Sports Surgical innovation priorities, translating enterprise and business-unit objectives into clear field actions, milestones, and measurable outcomes for key priority accounts.
  • Coordinate and align Area Vice Presidents, Regional Managers, distributors, Marketing, Commercial Education, Professional Education, Strategic Accounts, Finance, Supply Chain, and other partners around a unified execution plan.
  • Own launch readiness and execution for new products and strategic programs, including market prioritization, customer targeting, field enablement, inventory coordination, risk identification, launch governance, performance tracking, and corrective actions.
  • Lead high-value evaluations and competitive conversions by establishing account strategies, clarifying stakeholder roles, guiding execution, and ensuring disciplined follow-through through adoption and portfolio pull-through.
  • Set priorities and make informed business recommendations using market intelligence, customer insights, competitive dynamics, pipeline data, and financial considerations to focus resources on the highest-impact opportunities.
