Reliability / Asset Performance Management Business Owner

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you own the global business capability, roadmap, governance, and continuous improvement of reliability processes enabled by SAP Asset Performance Management and integrated SAP EAM processes. The role ensures APM is adopted as an operating capability that converts asset data, failure insights, criticality, condition monitoring, and reliability studies into actionable maintenance strategy improvements.

Key responsibilities

· Actively participate on the Global reliability network to provide insights on equipment performance.

· Define and maintain the global SAP APM product vision, business roadmap, release priorities, and value realization plan.

· Own the APM business backlog, including enhancement intake, prioritization, user story definition, process acceptance criteria, and release readiness.

· Establish standard reliability workflows for criticality assessment, failure mode analysis, RCM/FMEA, reliability recommendations, strategy updates, and recurring problem escalation.

· Ensure APM is integrated with SAP EAM work management, asset hierarchy, equipment records, maintenance plans, task lists, failure codes, notification/order history, and performance reporting.

· Partner with master data governance to define required asset attributes, classifications, failure libraries, criticality data, and condition-monitoring links needed for reliable APM outputs.

· Drive cross-site standardization so reliability studies, risk ranking, maintenance strategy decisions, and performance insights are not developed independently at each site.

· Lead business validation for APM-related configuration, integrations, dashboards, role design, training content, and process documentation.

· Translate APM insights into actionable maintenance strategy changes, including PM optimization, predictive/condition-based maintenance opportunities, and reliability improvement initiatives.

· Include Plant Pulse details into APM design and future roadmap.

· Provide reliability requirements for future Plant Pulse development in order and leverage enterprise iiOT capabilities for the asset performance monitoring process for critical assets.

· Monitor adoption and value realization through global KPIs, including APM usage, data completeness, recurring asset issue visibility, maintenance strategy effectiveness, and reliability performance trends.

Key interfaces

· Site reliability engineers and maintenance leaders

· SAP EAM process owners, planners, schedulers, and maintenance execution teams

· Asset master data governance, PiLog/data quality teams, and SAP functional/IT teams

· Quality, engineering, automation, operations, and capital project stakeholders

· Global Reliability Network, Global EAM Council, and site change agent network

· Global Plant Pulse integration to the APM process.

· AIN data analytics team.

Success measures

· Consistent APM adoption and reliability process execution across sites.

· Improved completeness and quality of asset, failure, criticality, and maintenance strategy data.

· Increased use of APM insights to update maintenance plans, task lists, PM intervals, and reliability actions.

· Reduced fragmented site-by-site reliability approaches and improved reuse of global standards and best practices.

· Improved visibility to bad actors, recurring failures, asset risks, and maintenance strategy effectiveness.

· Measurable contribution to equipment availability, reliability performance, operational capacity, and audit-ready decision traceability.
