At AstraZeneca we turn ideas into life changing medicines. Working here means being entrepreneurial, thinking big and working together to make the impossible a reality. We're focused on the potential of science to address the unmet needs of patients around the world. We commit to those areas where we think we can really change the course of medicine and bring big new ideas to life!
As a Precision Medicine Liaison (PML), you will use your current diagnostic and clinical test market experience. This experience will make an impact within a large, global pharmaceutical company. You'll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives.
You will ensure the timely, high quality in-market companion diagnostics / testing solutions are available to support optimal treatment. Engage collaborators before and after launch to deliver approved information. This supports overcoming barriers to testing at regional reference labs, pathology medical groups, and select academic or health systems with advanced diagnostic and molecular capabilities in the assigned geography. Support field request for biomarker education in community oncology accounts where needed.
You will identify and develop relationships to key pathology (molecular/genomic) diagnostic decision makers to gather insights and develop strategies to support and educate on appropriate testing. This includes sharing appropriate, approved, educational information on diagnostics, deliver highly technical data presentations, and educate on the need for diagnostic quality assurance (QA) programs.
You will have responsibility to understand and share key insights regarding pathology and lab referrals and testing information within the market and help improve testing processes across determined accounts within the geography.
PML will have responsibility for the AstraZeneca oncology portfolio where there is an aligned biomarker associated with an indication and a deep understanding of the testing landscape is required to ensure success within the geography.
Key collaborators in accounts may include scientific experts: Laboratory decision makers, Pathologists (anatomic, clinical and molecular), pathology groups (both AMC and community) and state societies. In addition navigators and diagnostic companies and lab account representatives/networks.
You will collaborate with Field Cross Functional Team, Medical Diagnostics, Precision Medicine HQ and PM/Brand HQ Marketing to gather regional/local market insights and supports regional strategies and support Quality Improvement projects as subject matter expert.
You will act as the regional expert to support oncology customers at the request of the cross functional team by providing more in-depth diagnostic expertise, insights, and support to our internal teams within oncology accounts. This expertise also includes knowledge of biomarker legislation within assigned states and to support efforts of state government affairs team as requested with external pathology collaborators.
An important element of this role is to work collaboratively and complete tactical plans for pre- and post-launch efforts. It requires a good understanding of clinical operational issues on the testing pathway. You will develop tailored testing solutions as needed.
