Job Summary

The Manager, Patient Data Management will be responsible for the governance, operation, quality, and strategic management of patient-level data assets supporting Amgen’s Patient Support Programs (PSPs), Specialty Pharmacies (SPs), Site of Care (SOC), and other patient-related data sources. This role partners closely with Commercial, Patient Access, Technology, Privacy, Compliance, Legal, and external vendors to ensure compliant data acquisition, integration, stewardship, and delivery of high-quality patient data that supports business decision-making and patient journey analytics.

The role will also serve as a subject matter expert for patient data, helping business and analytics stakeholders understand data definitions, source-system differences, business rules, data limitations, and impacts to downstream reporting and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage patient data governance and day-to-day operations across Amgen brands and patient support programs, including Hub Services, Nurse Support, Copay, Specialty Pharmacy, Site of Care, and other patient-level data sources.
  • Partner with the Patient Data Management Senior Manager and business stakeholders to gather, document, prioritize, and implement requirements for new patient data sources and enhancements.
  • Lead end-to-end onboarding of patient data sources, including requirements definition, field mapping, File Interface Agreements (FIAs), testing, validation, and production deployment.
  • Review and validate FIAs, file layouts, data mappings, business rules, data-transfer requirements, and source-to-target transformations for new feeds and migration initiatives.
  • Manage external data aggregators, vendors, and technology partners to ensure adherence to data quality, service-level, and operational expectations.
  • Investigate and resolve patient data quality issues through profiling, validation, reconciliation, root-cause analysis, and preventative controls.
  • Develop and maintain data specifications, data dictionaries, business rules, process documentation, governance artifacts, and lineage for patient-level data assets.
  • Provide proactive communication and change management for major patient-data changes, including source or table changes, milestones, downstream impacts, and reporting readiness.
  • Partner with Specialty Pharmacy, Site of Care, Trade & Channel, Contracting, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Technology, and other functions to establish, review, and operationalize patient data agreements and amendments.
  • Lead Site of Care patient-data operations, including vendor onboarding, data requirements, feed monitoring, data-quality and contract-compliance oversight, issue escalation, and reliable downstream delivery.
  • Respond to complex stakeholder data inquiries and translate business needs into actionable patient-level data requirements, extracts, and analyses involving enrollment, status, brand, claims, payer/coverage, and other patient attributes.
  • Serve as a trusted patient-data subject matter expert and point of contact for data definitions, source-system differences, limitations, data-quality investigations, onboarding, and reporting readiness.
  • Ensure compliant processing, storage, access, and use of patient-level data in alignment with Amgen Privacy, Compliance, Legal, and Information Security policies, including access controls and audit readiness.
  • Support connected patient datasets and Patient 360 initiatives by defining linkage requirements, validating data connections, aligning business rules, documenting lineage, and improving the usability of integrated patient data.
  • Drive continuous improvement through scalable data-management practices, including standardized onboarding, data-quality monitoring, status and issue tracking, automation, lineage, traceability, and self-service capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation across patient data operations, including data-quality monitoring, documentation, issue triage, file monitoring, KPI validation, and stakeholder self-service.
