Field Vice President (FVP), Vaccine Account Lead - West

Location: Field Based (West Coast region preferred)

The Field Vice President (FVP), Vaccine Account Lead is a senior leader responsible for driving strategic account performance, customer engagement, and portfolio growth across large, organized customers. The VAL reports directly to the Head of Sales and is member of the Sales Leadership Team. As a second line leader, the VAL guides and develops a team of Vaccine Account Directors (VADs), first line leaders, to strategically plan for and execute against key customer priorities while driving cross-functional alignment. This role requires visionary leadership across the vaccine’s portfolio, strong enterprise thinking, and a focus on talent development. The VAL brings contracting and financial acumen, systems thinking across functions and policy, and executive influence with public health agencies and key decision makers. An innovation mindset and focus on population health strategies is key, as well as ensuring a focus on customer insights and compliant execution of the strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership and Business Performance

  • Serve as a senior leader with end-to-end accountability for vaccines commercial performance, including volume, immunization rates, market share, pull-through, and budget delivery, across the region and defined set of large organized customers.
  • Lead the development and execution of cross-functional, customer-centric account strategies that drive above-brand and portfolio growth, translating CDC, medical society and state immunization guidance into regional execution strategies that drive alignment between public health priorities and commercial objectives.
  • Ensure alignment between national strategy and local execution, empowering VADs to effectively deliver GSK’s commercial account plans.

Build, Coach, and Develop High-Performing Teams

  • Build high-performance culture through recruitment, retaining top vaccine account talent and robust field capabilities training
  • Provide strategic guidance, career development, and regular in-field coaching to both VADs and VAMs in order to strengthen capabilities and execution excellence.
  • Conduct field visits to ensure excellence in customer engagement, engaging directly in key customer interactions, strategy development, and execution where needed to support VADs in complex or high-impact accounts.
  • Identify and champion career pathing and training needs to position the Account Management team for long-term success and development

Customer Engagement and Enterprise Account Strategy

  • Represent GSK at regional and state-level forums (public health associations, payer/provider roundtables, immunization coalitions)
  • Sustain long-term, trust-based partnerships with executive leaders across IDNs, GPOs, retail chains, state programs, and payers to advance shared vaccination goals
  • Serve as executive sponsor for enterprise-level partnerships and multi-system agreements (IDNs, GPOs, retail chains), ensuring seamless cross-functional execution
  • Leverage deep understanding of organized customer business models, care delivery systems, and economic drivers to identify opportunities for shared value creation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Resolution

  • Set shared objectives with alignment on excellent execution with counterpart leaders, e.g. National Accounts Lead (NAL) Vaccine Sales Leaders (VSLs). Recognize & share best practices and address opportunities in communication and collaboration for collective success
  • Support the role of the VAD/VAM as the “Quarterback” for key accounts to coordinate execution with Sales and Retail teams operating within the customer network/geography. Partner with internal teams (Contracting, Organized Provider Account Strategy/Health System Director leaders, Marketing and others) to compliantly offer relevant solutions and present the clinical, economic and operational solutions.
  • Proactively monitor and address policy, payer, and operational issues by partnering with Market Access, Medical, Government Affairs, and Account-Based Solutions teams.
  • Escalate and offer solutions to address customer and field team needs.
  • Inform efforts to facilitate immunization policy and delivery models to expand vaccine access and reduce systemic barriers; drive collaborative solutions and share learnings across the organization.

Performance Management and Execution Discipline

  • Monitor and manage team performance using KPIs and data-driven insights, ensuring effective execution and timely interventions.
  • Lead structured business reviews, field performance discussions, and strategic planning cycles to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all account engagements meet GSK’s standards for quality, integrity, and compliance.
