The Vice President, Medicare Product sets the product strategy and leads the product portfolio for Aetna’s complex, multi-segment Medicare business. This executive is accountable for shaping differentiated products, driving portfolio performance, and aligning product decisions with enterprise growth, financial, and customer objectives across a Medicare business of approximately $90 billion.
The Vice President leads product strategy across Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D, Duals, Group Medicare, and related ancillary offerings, ensuring the portfolio remains competitive, financially strong, operationally executable, and responsive to evolving market, regulatory, and customer dynamics.
Reporting to the SVP & President of Medicare, this leader defines the strategic direction for product design, innovation, lifecycle management, and portfolio performance across a national footprint. The role integrates business strategy, market opportunity, product economics, regulatory requirements, clinical and operational considerations, and customer needs into a cohesive portfolio agenda designed to drive growth, margin, quality, and long-term competitive advantage.
In addition to product strategy, the Vice President holds significant accountability for product implementation and governance, annual bid and product filings, vendor management, and execution in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
This executive serves as a senior leader and thought partner across the Medicare organization, influencing decisions related to portfolio positioning, product evolution, implementation readiness, and go-to-market strategy. Success requires exceptional leadership within a highly matrixed organization and the ability to align Product, Finance, Actuarial, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Pharmacy, Network, Clinical, Compliance, Legal, Government Affairs, and Technology.
