Sr. Associate IT Generalist

Disaster Recovery & Customer Coordination

The Sr. Associate IT Generalist will help strengthen technology resilience and business continuity through disaster recovery planning, testing, documentation, and customer implementation support. This role works across technology teams to understand critical systems and dependencies, maintain recovery plans, and help ensure disaster recovery activities are effectively planned and executed.

The position also plays an important customer-facing role, using project management practices to move customer requirements and implementations forward while coordinating with customers, engineering teams, sales, and internal business partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update disaster recovery plans and supporting documentation.
  • Review and test disaster recovery plans, identify gaps, document findings, and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate disaster recovery drills, simulations, and related activities, documenting outcomes and lessons learned.
  • Partner with IT teams to understand system dependencies, critical business functions, and recovery requirements.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery runbooks, playbooks, and incident-response procedures.
  • Support disaster recovery tools, technologies, and activities associated with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply project management practices to move disaster recovery initiatives and customer implementations forward against defined customer requirements.
  • Coordinate new and changing external customer connectivity requirements with customers and internal technology teams.
  • Facilitate customer engineering discussions and coordinate technical follow-up.
  • Support customer quoting activities and serve as a liaison across customers, sales, engineering, technology teams, and internal business partners.
  • Track work, requirements, issues, and project activities using Jira and ServiceNow.

We are unable to provide sponsorship for this role, presently or in the future.

Minimum Qualifications

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience

Critical Skills

  • 4+ years of relevant experience that includes hands-on disaster recovery or business continuity work.

  • Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting disaster recovery plans and documentation.
  • Experience participating in or coordinating disaster recovery testing, exercises, or simulations.
  • Experience using Jira and ServiceNow.
  • Demonstrated experience organizing and tracking multiple project activities, requirements, dependencies, or stakeholder deliverables.

I would keep this section fairly lean because the hiring manager has now been specific about what is truly required:

  • Experience creating or maintaining technical runbooks, recovery procedures, playbooks, or similar operational documentation.
  • Experience supporting disaster recovery standards, compliance, or regulatory activities.
  • Experience coordinating customer connectivity or other customer-facing technology implementations.
  • Experience working across technical, customer, sales, and business teams.
