ROLE SUMMARY

The Marketing Platform & Engineering (MPE) team delivers compliant digital marketing technology, solutions, and services across Pfizer business units and markets as part of the Chief Marketing Organization.

The Senior Associate, Solutions Software Engineer is a hands-on individual contributor who designs, builds, integrates, and supports digital solutions using approved enterprise platforms, modern software engineering practices, and emerging artificial intelligence capabilities. The role translates business and technical requirements into scalable, production-ready solutions and supports the full solution lifecycle from feasibility and rapid prototyping through development, testing, deployment, production support, and post-launch stabilization.

This role works closely with Product, Technical Business Analysis, Development, Quality Assurance, Architecture, Platform Engineering, Security, Infrastructure, Networking, Operations, Analytics, and external partners. The colleague is expected to step into complex technical situations, help developers remove blockers, troubleshoot application and cross-system issues, and coordinate with accountable teams until a clear resolution path is established. The role does not have direct people-management accountability and does not independently own enterprise platform strategy or architecture.

Solution Design and Software Delivery

  • Partner with the Technical Business Analyst (Tech BA) and stakeholders to refine business, functional, experience, and technical requirements and assess technical feasibility.
  • Translate business, functional, experience, and technical requirements into working solutions using approved technologies, patterns, and standards.
  • Design, build, configure, integrate, extend, test, and maintain responsive web, mobile, application, and internal productivity solutions.
  • Develop scalable front-end and back-end components, application programming interfaces (APIs), integrations, microservices, and data flows as required.
  • Evaluate implementation options and recommend practical approaches that balance business value, delivery speed, technical quality, risk, security, and maintainability.
  • Create and maintain technical specifications, diagrams, configuration details, integration contracts, and operational documentation.

Hands-On Engineering and Developer Support

  • Work directly with developers to evaluate implementation options, remove technical blockers, review code, and strengthen solution quality.
  • Troubleshoot coding, configuration, dependency, performance, integration, environment, deployment, and unexpected system behavior issues.
  • Help distinguish between application defects, configuration problems, integration failures, environment issues, and gaps in shared platform capabilities.
  • Contribute to reusable patterns, documentation, tooling, and knowledge sharing that reduce recurring delivery issues.

Artificial Intelligence, Prototyping, and Innovation

  • Design and deliver artificial intelligence-enabled capabilities, including generative artificial intelligence integrations, automation tools, and internal developer or productivity solutions.
  • Build rapid prototypes and proofs of concept, then evolve validated ideas into secure, supportable, production-ready solutions when approved.
  • Use appropriate artificial intelligence development tools and modern coding techniques to accelerate analysis, development, testing, documentation, and delivery while following Pfizer requirements.
  • Experiment with emerging technologies, assess fit for specific business problems, and share practical findings, limitations, and reusable approaches with the team.
  • Develop demonstrations and clearly communicate solution capabilities and technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technical Feasibility and Delivery Partnership

  • Partner with Product, Technical Business Analysts, and stakeholders to validate requirements, identify technical constraints, dependencies, assumptions, risks, and integration needs early.
  • Provide technical input to estimation, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sequencing, release readiness, and go-live activities.
  • Explain technical tradeoffs and implications clearly and collaborate with Principal Engineers, Platform Engineers, and Architects when needs affect shared architecture or foundational capabilities.

Production and Operational Support

  • Facilitate technical support by engaging the appropriate to help resolve complex production, connectivity, networking, integration, infrastructure, security, environment, and deployment issues affecting team-delivered solutions.
  • Liaise with the appropriate platform, infrastructure, networking, security, operations, vendor, or support team and remain involved to maintain momentum toward resolution.
  • Gather logs, diagnostics, reproduction details, impact information, and other evidence to isolate the likely source of an issue.
