The Opportunity
The Senior Cybersecurity Vulnerability Management Analyst is responsible for implementing and supporting the organization's vulnerability management program. Working in partnership with security operations, infrastructure, cloud, application, and engineering teams, this role helps identify, assess, prioritize, communicate, and drive remediation of vulnerabilities across the enterprise environment.
The Vulnerability Management Analyst takes initiative to assist in planning and execution, performs assigned technical and operational tasks within defined scope and guidance, and follows established security policies, standards, and operating procedures. The analyst leverages internal and external intelligence sources to understand emerging threats, exploitation activity, and attack vectors; validates vulnerability findings; documents risk assessments and remediation recommendations; and escalates risks or issues appropriately to support timely mitigation and risk reduction.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement and maintain vulnerability management processes and technologies used to identify, assess, prioritize, and track vulnerabilities across enterprise assets.
• Operate and support vulnerability scanning platforms by onboarding assets, validating scan coverage and results, maintaining data integrity, and monitoring platform health and performance.
• Analyze vulnerability findings to determine risk, exploitability, business impact, and remediation priority.
• Partner with infrastructure, cloud, application, and business teams to communicate vulnerability risks and drive remediation.
• Perform vulnerability validation and technical analysis to distinguish true positives from false positives.
• Support risk-based vulnerability prioritization initiatives by identifying actively exploited vulnerabilities and attack paths.
• Assist with vulnerability reporting, metrics, dashboards, and executive communications.
• Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, attacker techniques, and exploitation trends.
• Collaborate with security operations, architecture, and engineering teams to identify systemic security weaknesses.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
• Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.
Skills and Qualifications
• 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity and/or IT operations with exposure to vulnerability management, security operations, threat management, infrastructure security, or related disciplines.
• Experience implementing or supporting vulnerability management platforms such as Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, Wiz, Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management, or similar technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to assess vulnerabilities beyond severity ratings by considering exploitability, attack paths, business impact, asset criticality, and real-world threat activity.
• Strong understanding of common attack vectors, adversary tactics, and exploitation techniques.
• Experience validating vulnerabilities and understanding remediation approaches across operating systems, networks, cloud platforms, containers, applications, and identity systems.
• Ability to communicate technical risk clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong relationship-building, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of CVSS, EPSS, CISA KEV, and risk-based vulnerability management methodologies.
• Experience tracking and managing remediation efforts through ticketing and workflow systems.
• Ability to analyze security findings, identify root causes, and recommend practical remediation actions.
• Working knowledge of operating systems, networking fundamentals, cloud services, identity platforms, databases, and application architectures.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Basic scripting or automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux administration fundamentals.
• Familiarity with NIST, CIS Benchmarks, ISO 27001, and related frameworks.
• Highly organized with strong prioritization, documentation, and analytical skills.
• Track record of integrity, curiosity, sound judgment, and continual learning.
• Experience participating in critical vulnerability response efforts.
