Location/Division Specific Information
Greenville, NC
As part of the Drug Product Division (DPD), our Greenville, North Carolina site is a multi-purpose pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, and packaging campus supporting sterile injectable and oral solid dose drug products from development through commercialization.
This position supports sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing within our Quality Assurance Training and Development team. Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and other technical partners, you'll help develop employee capabilities, strengthen operational performance, and support regulatory compliance.
How will you make an impact?
As an Operations Training Specialist III, you'll combine hands-on instruction with innovative training development to help employees build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
This role offers a balanced mix of instructor-led training (approximately 50%) and instructional design and development (approximately 50%).
You'll participate in our structured new employee training program while developing learning solutions for new manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies. Working directly with subject matter experts and operational teams, you'll translate complex technical information into engaging, practical learning experiences.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced training professional or a manufacturing specialist with a passion for teaching to expand their instructional design capabilities while making a meaningful impact on employee development and operational excellence.
What will you do?
- Deliver engaging instructor-led training as part of a structured four-week onboarding program covering approximately 30 operational courses.
- Develop proficiency across the training curriculum and facilitate classroom, hands-on, and individualized learning experiences.
- Design and develop training materials for manufacturing processes, equipment, technologies, and operational procedures.
- Partner with subject matter experts, Manufacturing, Engineering, Validation, and Quality to translate technical information into effective learning solutions.
- Create interactive training content, including eLearning, videos, presentations, simulations, practical exercises, and proficiency assessments.
- Evaluate training effectiveness, provide coaching and targeted retraining, and continuously improve learning outcomes.
- Coordinate training development projects, managing stakeholders, priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
- Maintain accurate training documentation and ensure alignment with cGMP requirements, quality systems, and established procedures.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Associate degree with relevant manufacturing, training, or operational experience may be considered.
- Candidates without a college degree who demonstrate substantial relevant experience and strong instructional capabilities may also be considered, subject to applicable job qualification requirements.
Experience
Experience in training, learning and development, instructional design, pharmaceutical manufacturing, sterile operations, or another regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
Candidates with hands-on manufacturing experience who have trained, coached, or qualified colleagues are encouraged to apply. Formal classroom instruction experience is beneficial but not required for individuals who demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to develop effective learning materials.
The ideal candidate brings a combination of practical operational knowledge, instructional ability, and an interest in developing others.
