Summary:

The Associate Director will provide strategic and analytical support for global and US commercialization portfolio planning. This role will focus on long-term financial planning (LTFP) consolidation, risk and opportunity management, and governance processes.

The position partners closely with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate forecasts, scenario analyses, and executive-ready materials that inform strategic decision-making.

This position is ideal for a seasoned forecasting professional who combines analytical strength, structured thinking, and the ability to influence cross‑functional alignment while guiding more junior team members in capability development.

Responsibilities:

Portfolio Consolidation & Reporting

  • Consolidate brand- and therapeutic-area-level forecasts, actuals, and financial outputs into a single, enterprise-level portfolio view for short-term (1- and 3-year) and long-range (10-year) planning cycles
  • Maintain the portfolio consolidation model/database, ensuring data integrity, version control, and traceability across contributing brand teams
  • Prepare portfolio-level summaries, variance analyses, and executive-ready materials that translate brand-level detail into a coherent enterprise narrative
  • Support production of recurring portfolio deliverables (e.g., monthly/quarterly outlook updates, planning cycle submissions, ad hoc leadership requests).

Analytics, Scenario & Variance Support

  • Support portfolio-level scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and risk/opportunity assessments across multiple brands and markets.
  • Analyze variances between forecast and actuals at the brand and portfolio level, identifying key drivers and flagging risks and opportunities.
  • Partner with Finance, MAx, and brand forecasting teams to ensure consistent assumptions, definitions, and methodologies feed into the consolidated portfolio.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of AI-enabled forecasting and consolidation tools, ensuring outputs remain transparent and auditable.

Cross-Functional Alignment & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for brand and therapeutic-area forecasting leads contributing inputs to the consolidated portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Commercial Operations, Market Access, and Drug Development to align on data feeds, timing, and reporting requirements.
  • Represent Portfolio Consolidation in cross-functional forums, presenting portfolio-level assumptions, risks, and scenario implications.
  • Escalate data quality, timing, or alignment issues to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.

Process, Tools & Governance

  • Maintain and strengthen documentation, templates, and workflows supporting the portfolio consolidation process to increase efficiency, transparency, and audit-readiness.
  • Identify and help implement process improvements and automation opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve turnaround time.
  • Uphold compliance with enterprise model-risk, data governance, and documentation standards.
  • Manage the bi-annual LTFP calendar, coordinating deliverable timelines across contributing teams.

Leadership & Capability Building

  • Mentor and guide analysts and senior analysts, helping strengthen their forecasting skills, business acumen, and structured problem‑solving.
  • Provide thought leadership within the forecasting community, contributing to capability‑building initiatives.
  • Model intellectual curiosity, structured thinking, enterprise mindset, and effective communication.
  • Help shape a culture of collaboration, inclusion, transparency, and innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical forecasting, commercial analytics, or related quantitative fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in forecasting methodologies, scenario design, patient flow modeling, and use of pharmaceutical secondary data (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony).
  • Experience using Python or comparable analytical programming languages to support model development, calibration, or advanced analytics (preferred).
  • Proven ability to develop or oversee AI‑enabled, algorithmic, or advanced Excel‑based forecast models.
  • Strong ability to synthesize complex quantitative information into concise, strategic insights for senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication and data‑storytelling skills; able to influence cross‑functional partners and senior stakeholders.
