The job leads technical workstreams and contributes to program outcomes by developing actionable methods and analyses, collaborating with cross‑functional partners to integrate technical solutions throughout the lifecycle, and advising on complex technical decisions and risks.
Designs site-level processes and improvements by defining operating ranges, critical parameters, and acceptance criteria that support efficient, high-quality production.
Leads process improvement and optimization workstreams, defining the technical approach, coordinating trial execution with production, and documenting results.
Conducts process validation and troubleshooting for manufacturing processes manufacturing processes by analyzing performance data, investigating deviations, and drafting corrective actions and supporting documentation for review and approval
Establishes technical standards for process documentation and change execution, ensuring methods, assumptions, and evidence are complete.
Guides engineers through technical decisions by running working sessions, documenting decision logic, and tracking actions to closure.

1. Electrical Design Basis & Power Distribution Strategy

  • Own the electrical Basis of Design and overall power distribution philosophy for the SVP program.
  • Establish and maintain electrical load lists, connected/demand load assessments, single-line diagrams, voltage levels and distribution architecture.
  • Coordinate the utility interface, site substation, medium-voltage distribution, building substations and low-voltage distribution.
  • Ensure the design incorporates appropriate capacity and flexibility for future campus expansion.

The current concept identifies a new utility substation supplying 12.47 kV distribution to the CUB, with underground feeders serving unit substations in the major buildings.

2. Reliability, Redundancy & Critical Power

  • Lead development of the program's normal, standby, emergency and UPS power philosophy.
  • Define critical electrical loads with Process, Manufacturing, Automation, HVAC, Utilities, Quality and equipment SMEs.
  • Establish appropriate redundancy and backup-power requirements based on operational and GMP impact.
  • Ensure critical systems such as controls, isolators, monitoring and data systems receive appropriate backup power.

The current Durham scope identifies UPS, emergency generation, power redundancy and critical-load philosophy as areas still requiring definition. The current project scope also identifies normal, standby and emergency generation plus UPS for critical controls, isolators, monitoring and data systems.

3. Process Equipment, Utilities & Building Systems Integration

  • Own electrical interfaces with filling equipment, formulation/compounding systems, HVAC, clean utilities, black utilities, warehouse systems, laboratories and automation.
  • Coordinate equipment electrical requirements with vendors and engineering disciplines, including loads, voltage, feeders, disconnects, controls interfaces and backup-power classification.
  • Ensure vendor electrical requirements are incorporated into the facility design and electrical load model.
  • Drive resolution of electrical interfaces between the CUB, filling buildings, admin/lab, warehouse and campus infrastructure.

These interfaces are significant because the program includes three filling buildings plus warehouse, laboratory/administration, central utilities and supporting campus loads.

4. Electrical Safety, Standards & Design Governance

  • Provide technical governance for electrical design and ensure applicable corporate engineering requirements, codes and project criteria are incorporated.
